Mr. McConnaughay is an experienced commercial and transactional lawyer, with a focus on real estate law. He has spent nearly 30 years advising financial institutions in the documentation and collection of all types of commercial loans, with a focus on foreclosure, bankruptcy and collections litigation.

Mr. McConnaughay also has years of experience in commercial real estate acquisition, development, leasing and finance, on a local, regional and national basis, representing lenders, developers, landlords and tenants.

A significant portion of Mr. McConnaughay’s practice involves general real estate dispute resolution and litigation, including landlord/tenant disputes, partitions, property line disputes, title insurance claims, condemnations/eminent domain, easements, real estate taxes and mechanics lien litigation.

Mr. McConnaughay is a member of the American, Illinois and Peoria County Bar Associations, is currently a member of the Peoria County Bar Association Board, and has served on various Peoria County Bar Association committees. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. McConnaughay currently serves on the Peoria Irish Fest Board and represents several charitable and not for profit corporations. He is a past President of the Washington Gifted Middle School PTO, and has coached a number of youth soccer and hockey teams. He is married, with two children. His wife is Acting Dean and Professor of Biology at Bradley University.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McConnaughay was an associate with the Boston, Massachusetts, firms of Peabody & Arnold and Gaston & Snow.
