Rhonda L. Heinz

Rhonda Heinz joined the firm in 2012 after relocating to the area. She was formerly a partner Samuels, Miller, Schroeder, Jackson & Sly, LLP in Decatur, Illinois, a 15 attorney, Martindale-Hubbell “AV” law firm established in 1888.

Ms. Heinz is knowledgeable in all areas of employment law, including representation of employers and employees concerning discrimination, unemployment, wage and hour and other employment related claims; drafting employment contracts, employee manuals and other employment related documents; and advising employers in all areas of personnel issues and related State and Federal employment laws. She has served as an adjunct professor for the University of St. Francis teaching employment issues in a master degree course in health care law and has developed and presented workshops on various employment law topics to business clients and community groups.

Ms. Heinz is an experienced trial lawyer in both State and Federal courts and has appeared before various administrative agencies handling claims involving discrimination, unemployment, wage and hour and Social Security disability claims. Her appellate practice includes appearing before various Illinois District Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeal.

Ms. Heinz has also worked with colleges and universities and health care providers in various areas unique to those entities.
