Robert J. Hills
ROBERT J. HILLS is an experienced trial attorney in both state and federal courts, with a focus on the defense of complex litigation. His principal areas of practice are commercial litigation, white-collar defense, and internal investigations, personal injury and property damage defense, insurance coverage, and disputed trusts, estates, and guardianships. Mr. Hills has tried cases to verdict in both state and federal court.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hills worked for a national law firm where his practice was also focused on complex litigation. There he defended both regional and national health care providers, insurance companies, and employers in matters of medical malpractice, automobile injury defense, and insurance coverage disputes.
Mr. Hills began his career at a Peoria-based general practice firm, where he represented clients in both federal and state litigation, primarily involving disputed business contracts, commercial real estate and construction litigation, and disputed trusts and estates. During law school, Mr. Hills served as a Senior Business Editor on the board of the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical & Clinical Law, where he participated in the selection and editing of scholarly legal articles for publication. Mr. Hills is a Peoria native and enjoys cycling, running, fishing, hiking, and gardening, along with spending time with his family.
